Coca-Cola UK has launched a new ad campaign which is aimed at getting people in Britain to recycle more than they currently do. The new ‘Keep it Going’ ads encourage people to buy Coca-Cola and recycle the empty packaging once they have finished. The ad campaign was created as a recent study has shown that the packaging accounts for the biggest proportion of a drinks carbon footprint.
By simply recycling their empty Coca-Cola can or bottle consumers could make a major difference to the environment. Coca-Cola also hopes to reduce the packaging in the future by a further 5%.
Coca-Cola is also investing in a new nationwide scheme to add ‘Recycle Zones’ all over the UK. These new zones will allow people to drop off their items to be recycled and also offer tips on how consumers can reduce their own carbon footprints. The first to get a new Recycle Zone was Thorpe Park and Manchester Airport, the first city in the UK is Southampton.
