Laptop Recycling

Earn up to £250 in Cash for Recycling your Old Laptop

Every year its estimated that 2 million PCs and laptops are thrown in the bin and are ending up at landfill. This is still only a small part of the 1.2 million tonnes of electrical waste that is chucked away in the UK every year, enough waste to fill Wembley stadium six times over, this rate is increasing a scary 5% every year.

In order to make a PC or laptop computer manufacturers use 10 times the product’s weight in chemical and fossil fuels so if you have an energy efficient system its manufacturing process has already posed a big problem to climate change. In addition to this many laptops heavy metals which are extremely toxic and flame retardants which are very dangerous when they aren’t disposed of correctly.

With technology always getting better many people purchase a new laptop much more regularly. Considering the implications in terms of climate change, use of resources and damage to the environment we should all remember to recycle our old laptops correctly.
